Summer Wrap Up

One day my kids are going to look back and realize just how bad of a record keeper I am. Terrible with taking pictures, terrible with writing down our everyday events. But I'll keep trying and to my defense, summer is always so busy!!!! I decided if I tried to round up pictures from everywhere (i.e. my camera, my old phone, my new phone, Mike's phone, my mom ect.) I would never get this done, so only a few pics this time around.

Summer started out busy like always. We had a big shindig for my Grandpa Frank and my Grandma Kimi celebrating a 90th birthday, an 80th birthday, and 55 years of marriage. Some seriously big milestones. We held the party at Ray's house and it was beautiful! It was great to be with our immediate and extended family and friends and reminise on good times. (Pictures to come for sure)

Then we were on to Mitch's summer sports extravaganza! Baseball and tennis kept us running like crazy! There were lots of hot summer days playing with the neighbors. Yard work to do on my part, although I did slack some this year because I was so HOT!!!! We grew a garden that actually produced quite a bit this year and grew a baby, which is close to harvesting.

The circus came to town and the kids were excited to go. It was super windy and super hot that day, so we didn't stay for the entire thing. Mitch got to ride on the elephant and Libby rode on the pony.

The kids took swimming lessons. Mitch is a daredevil and loves the water, but Libby was a little more hesitant. I was afraid they wouldn't let Libby take lessons since she wasn't 5, but they only had to be 4 so that was great. We spend a few days and Grandma and Grandpa's having pool day. They got a new bigger pool this year, and it's a great way to cool off. Now that summer's over Libby is getting pretty brave in the pool at Grandma and Grandpa's house.

We had a coulple of outings to Heise this summer which is always fun too. On the 4th of July we made a quick trip up and spent the night with John and Hilary and the family. Lesson learned, don't camp when you're pregnant, especially don't sleep on an air matress, you'll never get out. Oh, and there's not a bathroom close enough to get up and use 5 times a night. The boys always go riding and we hit the pool, and its been pretty hot, at least for me. We went another time with the Diaz's and did the usualy, boys ride their bikes and girls go to the pool. They guys met up with use later in the day and so we all got to go on the slide. Diana got some pretty good pics, but I'm not sure I want to post them :) We had pizza there in Heise and then headed home with a bunch of tired kids.

The Bodies Exhibition came to the Museum of Idaho in Idaho Falls and so we took the kids. I knew it would be really cool and Mitch was super excited. We tried to get Libby to stay home with Grandma, but she wouldn't have it. Both kids really liked it and it was a great teaching tool. When we went into the area with the circulatory system all Libby could say was "this is so sad" I'm not sure why that part bothered her so much. My favorite part was the fetal growth section. It was amazing to see just how intricit those little bodies were and how perfect they are at such a small size. They had one fetus that was 9 weeks, and that was the time that we found Graham's encephalocil. It was amazing that we could see something on a body that small, but that at 9 weeks, his body was a perfect little version of us. The kids liked seeing the babies grow and wonder what size our baby sister was. It was a great learning experience overall and great to see just how detailed our bodies are. No doubt we were created by a loving Heavenly Father that made our bodies strong in so many ways.

We spent lots of time getting a nursery ready this summer. We still have a few finishing touches, but for the most part we're ready to go, and hoping that we aren't suprised with a baby boy, or Mike will be busy painting again:)

We went on our annual school shopping trip with Allison and the kids. We ended up in Provo this year since Michael is down there. I must admit that Provo has got pretty good shopping. Even a TaiPan trading in the mall. We had fun, but I can definitely tell Mitch is getting too old to go on long shopping trips. He may be staying home with his dad next year.

The kids on the play land at the mall, except Max disappeared somewhere!

Once we got back from school shopping our summer fun rapidly declined since I had to go back to work. The kids played more with friends and Mitch started another baseball camp.

The Lube shop in Idaho Falls is now a Mobil1 service center so they had a new grand opening and ribbon cutting and the Mobil1 car was there with a game simulator that was pretty fun. The kids were excited to see the car and were thrilled when they started up the car and heard just how loud it was.

To wrap up all of our summer events, Mike ended up with a nasty case of kidney stones. We spend a couple nights in the Emergency Room, and he had a few miserable days. Hopefully we don't see those again!
