Christmas 2009

So this post's pics are a little interesting, I couldn't get the pics the right way for the life of me. Oh well, I'm new to this so it's going to stay this way for right now. I had a hard time really getting into the Christmas spirit this year. We had a lot going on and a lot on my mind and Christmas wasn't one of them. Luckily I still have 2 kids who refuse to let me forget about it and so we finally got the Christmas trees up and some of the other decorations out. I set up 2 trees, one upstairs and one downstairs that has all of the kids ornaments on there. I had 3 great helpers to help me get all the ornaments on. Mike got the big tree set up upstairs while the kids and I worked on the tree downstairs. It didn't take long and I was glad once we got them up.

Everytime someone would come to our house Libby would have to show them the Christmas tree, and it had to be the one downstairs that she helped decorate. She's such a funny little girl.

Christmas morning rolled around and Mitch was up and at 'em at around 6. He had gone out and scouted out what Santa brought before he came and got us. He was really excited this year and his list for Santa kept changing up to Christmas day, so luckily Santa brought most of what he wanted, in various sizes and shapes. This was the skateboard that he wanted, it was just a little table skateboard, when he wanted a real skateboard, so like I said he got everything in different sizes, and luckily he wasn't too upset.

Libby got a dollhouse and lots of Barbies and little dolls, which was great. She was in heaven and she stayed quiet for hours. At one point during the day I couldn't find her and she was back behind her dollhouse playing very contently.

The kids were both super excited and played well together. After we opened up the rest of our present we headed over to Grandma and Grandpa Tominaga's for more presents, breakfast with the Readers, and a phone call from Michael. It was great to talk to Michael and know that we're on the downhill slide and that he'll be home for next Christmas. Then later we came back to our house and had dinner that night with Prime Rib and all the trimmings. Anyone who knows our family knows that we always have way too much food, and as always we were well fed. We all made out like bandits, but more importantly we were able to celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. This year I was especially grateful for my Savior and his sacrifice and the Plan of Salvation. As trials occur in our lives, I'm so grateful for the gospel and my Loving Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.
